About Lizzie: Finding yoga, continuing education, and what I’m up to off the mat

Discovering yoga
I stumbled into my first yoga class as a young college student unathletic, nervous, and intimidated, fully unaware of how much it was about to transform my life. After just a few classes, I noticed some of yoga’s benefits immediately: increased flexibility, less stress, better sleep. I decided to register for a membership at my local studio. As I began to commit to a daily practice, I began to notice longer-term benefits: increased strength, body awareness, and athletic endurance, sharper concentration, higher self-confidence levels. Through a sustained practice, I began to make friends with the other yoga practitioners, introducing me to just how wonderful a tight-knit yoga community can be. Most importantly, my daily yoga practice stoked a deep sense of curiosity to continue learning more – which is why I ultimately decided to dive in and take my first yoga teacher training in the summer of 2015.

Teacher trainings & continued education
I took my first 200-hour yoga teacher training at Inner Fire Yoga led by master teachers Sandy Homburg, Hope Henley, and Joan Bliefernicht. Since then, I have taken several trainings and workshops with experts teachers including Rusty Wells, Wesley Kavelaris, Dar Vander Hoop, Karen Rigsby, Julie Logue, among others.
Continuing to learn on and off the mat is a top priority for me, which is why you can often find me practicing with yoga instructors of all styles throughout the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond.

Off the mat
When I’m not practicing or teaching yoga, you can find me outside or spending time with friends – ideally doing both simultaneously! Running, hiking, surfing, cooking, camping, road tripping, playing music – I’m game.
